How We Source
How we source from India.
DVG sits between your specification and Indian supply. Our job is to make sure the two match before anything ships.
Process
Six steps from enquiry to shipment.
Nothing here needs registration. Enquiring commits you to nothing.
- 01
Understand the requirement
We start with your product, form or grade, quantity, destination port, packing preference and any certification you need. A clear specification at this stage saves weeks later.
- 02
Identify suitable supply
We match the requirement to Indian suppliers and processors that can meet it, and carry out supplier and facility verification before sourcing.
- 03
Verify the specification
Grade, moisture, purity or mesh, and packing are confirmed in writing before we quote, so that the quotation and the product describe the same thing.
- 04
Sample and approval
A sample is arranged for your approval where it helps. You can test it with your own lab or a third party before committing to bulk.
- 05
Packing and documentation
Export packing and labelling are prepared for the route and the destination. Commercial invoice, packing list and Certificate of Origin are issued, with lab reports and product certificates on request.
- 06
Shipment
Cargo is inspected, loaded and released to the carrier on schedule. You are kept informed until the shipment is on its way, and the documents follow.
Where supply comes from
Origin, product by product.
This is what we can state about each product’s origin. The origin of a specific lot is confirmed with the quotation.
| Product | Origin context |
|---|---|
| Makhana & Makhana Powder | Makhana is traditionally grown and processed in Bihar, and “Mithila Makhana” has held a Geographical Indication (GI) tag since 2022. A GI claim only applies to product sourced and documented from the GI region, so origin details are confirmed lot by lot rather than assumed. |
| Moringa Powder | Sourcing regions and supplier details for a specific lot are shared with the quotation. Supplier and facility verification is carried out before sourcing. |
| Isabgol / Psyllium Husk | India supplies an estimated 80–90% of world psyllium output, with the crop concentrated in Gujarat and Rajasthan. Price discovery largely happens at the Unjha and Sidhpur mandis in Gujarat. These are industry estimates, and the origin of a specific lot is confirmed with the quotation. |
| Tamarind | Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are commonly cited as India's leading tamarind-producing states, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The origin of a specific lot is confirmed with the quotation. |
| Green Coffee Beans | India's coffee is grown mainly in Karnataka (over 70% of production), Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Named origins include Chikmagalur and Coorg Arabica, Araku Valley Arabica, Wayanad Robusta and Monsooned Malabar. The estate or origin of a specific lot is confirmed with the quotation. |
| Biomass Pellets | Biomass is a renewable solid fuel, and how sustainable a given pellet is depends on the feedstock and where it comes from. Agri-residue pellets use by-products such as husks and shells. Some markets ask for sustainability or quality certification (for example ENplus or SBP). DVG does not claim certification that is not in place; ask us what can be documented for a specific lot. |
Buyer questions
What importers usually ask first.
Can I get a sample before ordering in bulk?
Yes. Samples can be arranged for your approval, and you are welcome to test them in your own or a third-party lab. Sample terms are agreed per enquiry.
What is your minimum order quantity?
It depends on the product, the form and the packing, and is agreed per enquiry. Tell us the volume you have in mind and we will say what is practical.
Can you supply to my specification?
Share your target specification. We confirm in writing what can be supplied against it, and what would need to change, before we quote.
Which Incoterms do you quote?
We quote against the Incoterm that suits your logistics. FOB, CFR and CIF are the most common for sea freight. Our guide to Incoterms explains the differences.
How do I request a quotation?
Send an enquiry with the product, form or grade, quantity, destination port and any certification you need. The more precise the enquiry, the more precise the quotation.
Tell us what you need.
Share the product, the specification and where it is going. We will come back with what we can supply.
